Hello everyone!

November marks many significant days! Nov 18th marks both President Makiguchi’s memorial as well as the Soka Gakkai’s founding. To commemorate that date, we will be hosting our annual district general meetings. Please see the specific district calendars to see when you’re district general meetings will take place and join us (and bring a friend)!

This November 18th is also very significant in that we will be celebrating the building of the new SGI International Headquarters in Japan. The building, which is being built to the bedrock of Japan, is built with great fortitude to withstand any of natural disaster. Sensei has encouraged us earlier this year that this is the time to deepen our faith and build it to the bedrock of our lives. This is the year to see the depth and power of Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo.

Also this month is November 28th, the day of Spiritual Independence. In 1991, we parted ways with the Nichiren Shoshu priesthood and began our own spiritual journey to practice Buddhism as Nichiren taught. Previous to this point, the Nichiren Shoshu priesthood actively sought to limit the capability of our members by stating that we were not capable of our own enlightenment (and needed their intervention). Since our parting, countless members have practiced to the fullest of their capabilities, enjoyed great life transformations, and proven that there is no middle person needed between us and our enlightenment. For more on this history, please visit our Soka Spirit website for more information!

Hope you all have an exciting month! See you all soon!
